Recently Fred, Ellen’s cousin, stated to me in an email that I often present for him a conundrum through what I write in my posts. Well this morning our pastor, Tom presented something similar at least possibly for some. I know Ellen commented when he said what he did about a passage that he had read during his sermon. So, I was inspired to post today concerning this conundrum that is actually presented to us by Jesus. So what is it Jerry?

The verse that Pastor Tom read was this:

Matthew 16:28 “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” (NASB1995)

What he stated about it was something like this: we believe that His kingdom came at Pentecost. So, is pastor Tom right?

Do you believe Jesus? If you do then pastor is right. Jesus didn’t speak lies. He is not a liar. So why did He also state:

Luke 22:30 that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (NASB1995)

Has this happened? Did this happen at Pentecost? No. Will it happen? Did Jesus say that it will? Then why should we not believe it? Jesus also stated this about the kingdom:

Matthew 6:10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. (NASB1995)

Has this happened? But this is our Lord’s Prayer concerning His Father’s kingdom one might say — not His. So what is the truth about kingdom or is it kingdoms? If it is one kingdom it certainly is not limited to only one facet of past, present and future life. Jesus is the truth He cannot lie. Paul certainly understood things about the kingdom that you and I would not know without him.

1 Corinthians 15:24 then [comes] the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. (NASB1995)

So did you follow this progression. We are now in the kingdom if we are in Him, we look forward to His kingdom to be set up on earth after His coming when the Apostles will sit on thrones to rule over the 12 tribes; all after He returns; and then once all earthly Authority has been destroyed and placed into His hands; then He places the kingdom into His Fathers hands. When will that be accomplished?

Revelation 20:7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (NASB1995)

Many of you will not believe this Scenario because you are stuck only believing man’s interpretation of it, and not Jesus’ own teaching on it through His own words, and through the counselor (His Holy Spirit) who He has sent to teach us all truth. That would mean: so that we do not have conundrums.
