‘The one who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. Rev. 3:21

Overcoming this world here in 20th century America was not nearly as difficult for most Christians as it is becoming in these days. But scripture informs us that it will get worse. let’s consider what the world will look like in the last days. There will be the rise of a one world leader, with Antichrist qualities, but he will declare himself to be god. This translates into a one world religion being proclaimed by a one world leader of a new world order.

But that religion and that order will not be without opposition. Jesus stated that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. According to Revelation 12 Satan will use this world system to attempt to do just that (prevail), but that chapter makes clear that he will be overcome by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony. Chapter 13, then offers a seeming contradiction, for it states that all who do not receive his mark and worship him, who is called the beast, will be killed. Listen:

Revelation 13:7 It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority was given to him over every tribe, people, language, and nation. 8 All who live on the earth will worship him, [everyone] whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slaughtered. (NASB2020)

So, which is it do we overcome him or does he overcome us? The argument goes something like this: if the Saints can be killed then the gates of hell have prevailed. But Jesus is the head of the church, and the fact that the head of the church died physically, in no wise indicated that Satan overcame either Him or the church. The verse we just read, labels Him as the Lamb who was slaughtered. Our overcoming has nothing to do with death in the flesh, but everything to do with life in the Spirit.

The Church’s time on this earth certainly could be coming to a close. For by the end of a war with Antichrist, the Bride will have made herself ready. Jesus had told us that the fields were ripe unto harvest, but in revelation. after a time, everyone is revealed to have been saved, who would be saved, and everyone else is revealed to be worshipers of this beast. During Tribulation there comes this time when there is no harvest left for the Church, but only a harvest unto wrath for her enemies. The gospel has gone out throughout the earth, but there is no more repentance from the Gentile world system.

Revelation 14:18 Then another angel, the one who has power over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.” 19 So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered [the clusters from] the vine of the earth, and threw [them] into the great wine press of the wrath of God. (NASB2020)

The very next verse in chapter 14, (it’s last), tells us what is happening at the battle of Armageddon, when Jesus returns in wrath.

Isaiah 63:1 Who is this who comes from Edom, With crimson-stained garments from Bozrah [in Edom], This One (the Messiah) who is majestic in His apparel, Marching in the greatness of His might? “It is I, [the One] who speaks in righteousness [proclaiming vindication], mighty to save.” 2 Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like the one who treads in the wine press? 3 “I have trodden the wine trough alone, And of the peoples there was no one with Me. I also trod them in My anger And trampled them in My wrath; And their lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments, And I stained all My clothes. (AMP)

Jesus will need no seal team 6 in this rescue of the Jews when He returns them to the Olive tree. For we have overcome — the bride has made herself ready, and the Lord, He is coming in great glory.
