Jeremiah 6:14 “They have treated superficially the [bloody] broken wound of My people, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ When there is no peace. (AMP)
Jeremiah 6:14 “They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace. (NASB1995)
Who is this meant to be for? Here we see that God’s people have a brokenness that has not been properly healed. Is this just about Israel?
1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. (KJV)
We the church are the people who will not be in darkness when that day arrives, but, are we any better of than Israel in Jeremiah’s day? I propose to you that neither are we any better off than they in our brokenness in these days. If true what will it take for us to no longer be as a body in darkness.
First, you should be asking — “why is it that you think we are as a body in darkness?” I’m glad that you asked that question, but you should really already know the answer if you follow my writing.
As a body the church is as confused today as Israel was during the days of Jesus, when walking on the face of the earth. They were His people, but they did not believe His words to them.
John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (KJV)
The church today is just as confused over Jesus Word’s to us, and over His counselor (the Holy Spirit’s) Words to us, as were the teachers in Israel of Jesus’ day. This is no less seen by God as a bloody broken wound in God’s people; than was Israel’s wound of long ago.
When you and I make peace with doctrines that are taught us by man which bear the mark of the enemy and teach them to be the source of our peace with God, we walk in deception if we are not walking in agreement, and this is an open wound.
Today we possess as the church numerous conflicting doctrines on the major issues concerning what Jesus came to produce in those, who would believe in Him and bear His name.
So this being the case, we cannot help but ask one more question — what will be the catalyst for the transition that must come about in order to transform us to: 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. (KJV)
One thing is certain this statement can only be for a church without spot or wrinkle.
Today, we maintain a pseudo peace one that does not heal the wounds in the church, but simply stated merely allows us to get along, but in no way does it produce light rather than darkness for the body.
Jeremiah 6:14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. (KJV)
If I am correct in my analysis of our present situation; then there will be a catalyst coming, one which will clarify and heal the existing bloody wound in todays Church — His people. It will bring the body to her knees and awaken her. Today’s church expects deliverance by an imminent act of God to deliver her by either the removal of her in her imperfect form from the presence of this present evil, or others of this body teach by the removal of the evil itself leaving her to reign on earth, but both views teach this without any repentance or effort on her own part to cover her bloody wound with the blood of Christ.
Jeremiah 7:13 “And now, because you have done all these things,” declares the LORD, “and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you but you did not answer, (NASB1995)
What is His call?
Revelation 2:14 ‘But I have a few things against you, because you have [some] there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who kept teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality. 15 ‘So you too, have some who in the same way hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16 ‘Therefore repent; or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will wage war against them with the sword of My mouth. (NASB2020)
There is today this portion of the church which by its teachings is promoting the sexual immorality of this world to be practiced in a segment of the church body. These practices do not go unnoticed by our Lord.
We will be disciplined before there is any healing of God’s people.
Hebrews 12:10 For they disciplined [us] for a short time as seemed best to them, but He [disciplines us] for [our] good, so that we may share His holiness. (NASB2020)
