Although God’s word is not science, still it too is subject to predictions which can be measured. But God’s word is normally not measured in time and numbers, although it can be in some instances; but instead it is measured in words describing events, actions and our love. Those events are prophetic. Those actions are to oppose sin which destroys. That love is to speak these truths in love, with the other persons salvation in mind. But just as with science there is much speculation over what the meaning of the numbers, or in the case of the Bible, the words can be.
For example using the numbers the scientists tell us that we are in a warming trend in earth. And the Bible tells us that in the last days evil men will wax worse and worse. We expect the scientist to properly interpret the numbers, and not to mislead us. Sticking with the temperatures, in the past the science of historic numbers helped the farmer predict weather for crops. Today man seeks to use science to introduce new technologies in order to change what is predicted. That can be very beneficial for planning, or it can prove very destructive. For example if we allow more population in a planned area, than we can provide water to meet the needs of those people; then all are in trouble.
The same is true for Biblical prediction. If the prophets are wrong in their interpretation of the words of prediction then decisions are made which lead to devastating results.
Actually the Bible warns us of the dangers in both the scientific and religious realms. When man in his science goes against nature and against God’s word both at the same time then difficult times are in store. Today what is natural and Biblical is no longer in, within liberal America, but instead what is unnatural and perverse.
The wise will understand this to be true. Those who promote such nonsense will prosper but only for a season; then all will end in disaster. God has given us both science and His word as a roadmap for life and for our time. Rejecting both is a broad road leading to death.
Jesus said “I am the truth and the life”. Accept Him and you will be given if you ask the guide to both the truth and the life. You must be born of the Spirit, and guided by Him into the truth. Jesus said “My word is truth”. Both nature (science) and the word (the Bible) are given us for life. Jesus said:
45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught of God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. John 6:45 NASB1995
But lest you not be confused, Jesus also stated: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21 KJV
Today men of the cloth and their followers mistake having an acceptance of another’s sin as love. They forget that Jesus said to the adulterous woman: “go and sin no more”, as part of His love and forgiveness. They twist the word and the science of God’s creation to their own destruction, even as Peter stated them to do in his letters.
We knew that these times were coming, it’s just that we did not expect them to come so quickly. So what beyond pointing others to truth because we love them are we to do? Jesus said when speaking of these our times:
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Matthew 24:9-14 KJV
Do not be among those who are offended. Do not be among those who prophecy falsely. Do not cease loving because iniquity is rampant in your midst. But endure in the faith and preach the gospel of the kingdom. A kingdom which no one will enter unless they are doing the will of the Father.
