Seems like an illegitimate question doesn’t it. But is it? If you are told the truth of scripture and you ignore it does God have anything to say about that?

Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17 NASB

I heard Brian Troxel’s message wherein he used the example of the electric guitar strings being all tuned to the same megahertz, but playing a different note. We as believers cannot and will not all be speaking the exact same thing, but we all must be grounded in the one savior who is truth and hearing from the same Spirit who is leading us into all truth. Think about that He is leading us into all of Jesus, who is truth. Have you ever wanted or desired more of Him? If we are not desiring to know Him who is truth better; then we have stopped growing. If we are no longer being checked in our spirit when a not is out of tune we have lost our hearing.

If we are no longer growing in God’s gifting’s to us, we then have allowed complacency to set in, and we are becoming self centered. If we no longer desire others to be drawn closer to Christ, and to learn of Him we are becoming useless. If we have stopped being played by the Master, because we have become a discordant note, then it is not because we have lost the eyes to see and the ears to hear; but because we just do not see.

Revelation 2:17 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give [some] of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’ (NASB)

We are given ears to hear, but do we hear? Without hearing we cannot overcome. But it does not just end with the hearing:

Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17 NASB
