Genesis 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. (KJV)

Is God’s blessing being removed from America today? It could be argued that we certainly had more of a turn at being blessed by God than any other county has ever had.

But certainly during these last two decades, if He has not removed His blessing He most certainly has every right to do so. We have not kept His voice, His charge, His commandments. We in the church look upon these days and still we lift from the pages of scripture verses that say what we want to hear, and ignore the remainder —the warnings.

You say: Well Paul said salvation is by faith alone. Did he? Are you sure that is all that he taught? Is there another side of Paul’s message that we should hear? After all, James said faith without works is dead. Did they really oppose one another in what they said and taught? God has allowed us to see in the above verses just what He meant when Moses penned: Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him as righteousness. Paul was of course, right that this belief was a faith given him and us by God in the first place, along with an expectation that we exercise it. But Paul never argued against this fact, that works which God tells us here in verse 25, are an integral part of our walk and that they must follow ones belief. It is Paul after all, who tells us in Romans 12:3, that this faith was given to every man, but not all exercise it as did Abraham. Not all have followed their belief with obedience. Not all allowed their faith to bear the fruit of belief in God, and in His Messiah. And not all act upon that faith. And it is His Messiah who says: if you love me keep my commandments.

Man today will argue that this is not the gospel. They say that it cheapens the Gospel. It does no such thing.

Romans 15:18 For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, (NASB)

They say that it causes man to be working for his salvation. It does no such thing. “If you love me… “ where love is the motivator we do not work, we want to love and show that love in return. This is why Paul and scripture calls us servants. Joshua asks: “whom will you serve, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Yes it was Paul who said this.

Colossians 3:23-24 NASB

Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? Romans 6:16 NASB

Again Paul’s words.

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:21 NASB

Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (KJV)

Jesus said:

John 15:2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every [branch] that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. (NASB)

John 15:10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. (NASB)

How do we apply this? How do we abide in Jesus?

Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6 NASB

He is the way. The early believers in Him as Messiah were called the people of the way. Followers of His on what is the narrow road.

He is the truth. His word is truth, a twisted version of truth is not Him. It is not abiding in Him. Follow truth, don’t be a sheep following another voice, but hear only His voice. Study to show yourself approved…

He is the life. Eternal life is His promise, first resurrection life, but it is only offered to those who walk the way, following the Truth. He is the Word of Truth, walk in Him. Walk in His Holy Spirit.
