Quotes taken from the above article.
In which he says:
“Writing about this “what if” is so important to produce and disseminate at this time because history might well be nearing the prophetic moment that instantaneously dooms millions—particularly in America—because all in this nation will have heard the Gospel. Beyond that stupendous event, some will have no chance to be saved from damnation. They will be lost for all eternity.”
It is apparent from this article that Terry believes unlike the late TIm LaHaye, who was co/author of the Left Behind series, that those who have heard the gospel before the Tribulation begins will have no hope of salvation during the Tribulation. LaHaye in his series actually used these who had heard but not accepted the gospel as the founders of believing congregations on earth during Tribulation.
Terry however sees his “what if” as being the Rapture.
“What if, just before the day of the election, the Rapture occurs—catastrophically affecting those who are left behind?…
But, the political consequences would be small potatoes compared to the consequences for the individual souls left behind to face the horrors soon to come in America and upon the entire world.
And, this is the message I intend to deliver. As I mentioned above, I hope you will convey the message as a real possibility that might come to pass; it is your job as a royal ambassador.”
The message that he is asking his reader to convey as messengers of Christ is rapture soon, without which the persons left behind will be lost.
Terry is not unlike many dispensationalists; he is big on speculation and light on scripture which will support his theory. His speculation in this article concludes that all Americans have heard the gospel. Apparently they have all ignored it and the only hope for them is therefore for you the ambassador to take his “what if” message to those who have heard it, in order, I would surmise, to frighten them into the kingdom with the threat of rapture and tribulation, since the gospel did not work.
One reader of his article in the comments section stated. “I just do not know how to share these things with them (her lost loved ones) that they will not think I have lost my mind.”
His answer was basically to direct them back to his websites.
The tactic that he is using to attempt to win souls is not a new one. It was used in every revival that I ever attended in the Southern Baptist churches that my family was a part of throughout my youth. “If you reject Christ today and He returns tonight you are doomed to tribulations wrath and hell.”
My concern is what damage will messages like this do to the presentation of the gospel during the tribulation. It is appointed unto man once to die and then comes the judgment. Many of those finding themselves in the Tribulation will still be saved.
I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 7:14 NASB
What is needed in the church today is a unity in the presentation of truth. Not the rapture. His word is truth. But today the church is divided over what is truth. It will take the great Tribulation to bring unity to the body of Christ. And when that revival occurs the church will win a multitude of souls to Christ, and among them will be the last Gentile to be added to the olive tree. And following the salvation of that one last Gentile, then a nation will be born in a day, as then all Israel will be saved (see Romans 11).
“ Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons. Isaiah 66:8 NASB
There will be a second part, and a third part, to this post, and possibly more. Please read all of them if you want the full impact of my concern for this church, which today is not united. If you have read my book then you know that I believe in Jesus’ John 17 prayer, and that it will be answered concerning the unity of truth that it presents to a lost world.
