I love Brian Troxel’s insights on, A Word in Season. Hear is wisdom from Gods lips through Brian to us:
“The prayer of the Night Watchman is priestly and borne by those who know their own weakness. There is a comprehension of the necessity to be clothed in the life and power of Christ to stand in this evil Day.”
A friend of ours on WordPress and I have had an ongoing discussion over words that amount to nothing more than man’s free will and accountability to God versus an eternal security with no real accountability.
In my mind there is no question that in the flesh we cannot do as Our Lord has asked in His admonitions to us unless we are clothed in the life and power of Christ. We are still in the flesh, and at war with it. Positionally we have died with Christ. If one can say that their flesh is already dead, and that the war between the Spirit and the flesh for them personally is completely ended; then should they be at rest? —but, if not they are still in the spiritual battle of which Paul speaks, but even if they have died to their flesh; then they still must be in this battle for others who have not.
It is my personal belief, based on scripture, that no one except Christ has achieved total victory over the flesh in this life. Temptations come James says from our own desires (lust), and they produce trials in which we are not at rest, but at war. But this is a war that only in Christ can we win.
James 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters (teachers), knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. (KJV)
These verses are to teachers, who are told that they will be judged based on their words. If anyone should be at rest it should be the teacher. We definitely should be walking in faith, but nowhere does it state that this is an easy walk.
Positionally we are many things in Christ, but faith is the walk of the believer.
Our rest is coming even as Paul told us in 2 Thessalonians 1, but now is not the time for rest, but for spiritual battle.
Another Brian quote:
“Repentance is the atmosphere of those who have touched the glory of the Almighty. No flesh can remain unbowed in the majestic presence of God. Those who speak lightly of this hour are indeed blind to the intensity and the ramifications of all which is about to transpire.”
Thanks for loving me, I love you too dear reader. We will both be judged for the words we teach on WordPress, and elsewhere, so understand that Words are powerful. Use them well. It is not our truth but God’s that we must insist upon in our posting, and teaching. God bless.
We definately will be judged by the words we speak and write. Our words are prophetic and we need to be careful. Have a blessed weekend.
