In concluding this study concerning the day of the Lord (the Christ), our Messiah, who is the savior of all who believe, we are going to the scriptures as recorded by those who speak of this days coming. They are Isaiah, Joel, Malachi, Paul and we will hear from our Lord even though He never mentions the Day of The Lord, not directly. He does however mention “that day”.

Isaiah’s statements:

Isaiah 2:12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: (KJV)

This statement is a good starting point, because it makes clear that the Day of the Lord has a certain people in mind (every one who is not the Lords). This then is good reason for wondering are His people The bride including those in Israel who are added back to the Olive Tree here to receive what this day brings when it has reference to wrath?  But it is also lends reason to question how the Tribulation could meet this exact objective. Pride is only eviscerated in the presence of God. Men who do not know God will only be eviscerated when he comes.

Isaiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

Isaiah 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Isaiah 13:12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. (KJV)

Joel’s statements:

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. (KJV)

Joel 3:13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

Joel 3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. (KJV)

Malachi’s statement

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: (KJV)

Paul’s statements

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (KJV)

2 Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.(other translations even the Darby translation reads “day of the lord” These two are interchangeable in scripture )

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (KJV)

Jesus’ Statements

Matthew 17:10-11 NASB And His disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” And He answered and said, “Elijah is coming and will restore all things;

John 6:40 NASB 40 For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”

Luke 17:24 NASB. 24 For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day.

Luke 21:34 NASB. 34 “Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap;

Mark 13:24-27,32,35 NASB. 24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven. 32 But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 35 Therefore, be on the alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—

There is no doubt from these statements that the Lords day will be an awesome day in many ways. It is described as cruel, wrath, destruction. The wicked punished, pride and arrogance will cease. Sinners destroyed.

We see these proofs of the days nearness:

—The sun, moon and Stars won’t shine.

—The harvest is ripe as the vats of mans wickedness overflows.

—Multitudes are in the valley of decision the day is near.

—when they say peace and safety sudden destruction is near

—Elijah the prophet is on earth before This day

—a falling away (apostasy) is before that day

—the son of perdition the man of sin will be revealed before that Day begins

It seems clear based on the evidence of scripture that the day of the Lord begins with the Lords coming after the Tribulation of those days. Multitudes have been in Tribulation’s valley of decision and the vats of wickedness are now full unto harvest. The gospel has gone out to all nations:

Luke 24:46-47 NASB. and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

All Decisions have been made in the valley of decision that are necessary for the fulfillment of prophecy concerning the King and His kingdom. The Day of the Lord is come. But it is also clear that it will not come until these things are fulfilled.

Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. (KJV)

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (KJV)

The resurrection accompanied the sounding of the last Trumpet, and the Rapture cannot precede the Resurrection (1Thess.4)  So now that it is sounded we are with Him in the air.  We are missing from the earthly view.

Luke 20:34 So Jesus said to them, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage.

Luke 20:35 But those who are regarded as worthy to share in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.

Luke 20:36 In fact, they can no longer die, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, since they are sons of the resurrection. (NET)

So some questions:

—How can there be the rapture before this resurrection of which the Lord speaks?

—How can the day of the Lord begin without the Lord?

—How can we ignore these clear facts about this day?

—Can you from scripture show how that day comes before Tribulation?

You cannot use that we are not appointed to wrath, because we already know and agree with that. Wrath is poured out at the end of Tribulation or perhaps after? It does not last long. Drinking water is turned to blood. The time is short. This wrath is either all or in part coming from the presence of the Lamb. It is the hour of testing that has come upon the whole world (Revelation 3:10). It begins with the hour of wrath (Orge) that we are kept from.

Think about it. Study these scriptures. God is speaking in them. And remember it is not until the tribulation is over that we are told that the bride has made herself ready.
