Could it be that this Calvinist is correct (see his view through the link at the end)? And could it be that it was Calvinist Christian’s and their understanding that in large part, was instrumental not only in this United States founding, but in its fall into reprobation over time? Meaning that that their believing and teaching, that our Sovereign God had retained total control over both mankind and history must might have adversely influenced men? Because in the end the question becomes: If so why does evil persist? Is it because God simply is proving His total control through the Scriptural prophecies concerning men and events, and in it all – evil persists? Or is it that He being God is so big that He knows what free will, not only will but must allow within mankind in the end, not because He causes it, but because of our sinful nature without Him in our lives? And is it that not only did He know this, but He knew it from creations very beginning and even before? Which view is truly in keeping with Scriptures message?
But the evil then is the real issue isn’t it. If God controls our revivals as the Calvinist believes, and even our response to His revival effort; then why does He only occasionally pour out His Spirit upon us for revival? So, then why are we not always in revival? And if God does not want us to be in revival; then does that thinking impart an unscriptural “truth” that will or has implanted into our society a false thinking about God? Where are the thoughts of God being evil coming from today?
For, If God wants everyone to turn and follow Christ (and He does); then it is not true.
1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (KJV)
So, then why are we becoming so reprobate? Is God the Father at war with His own Son? No. I’ll tell you why. Man is a free will free wheeling sinner, who basically loves his own bondage to sin and to the world more than he likes the thought of his bondage to God (in Christ Jesus), and so, he refuses Gods call when it comes on his life. And this is what Scripture teaches. Yes God did create Evil. He tells us that He did. Without it in the tree of knowledge, there would have been no ability to reap the overall consequence of choosing one’s own way over God’s desire for everyone’s life.
The last verse above (verse 6): “to be testified in due time”; will yield the wrap up in History. This coming time will see the Unified truth of the gospel go out to this entire world, and it will see men lay their lives down for it: not considering their own life to be worth the loss of even one soul, and certainly not their own soul. This will lead to mankind’s entrance into the valley of decision from whence there is no escape. Choose you this day whom you will serve. Men will die because of Satan’s wrath for their testimony of Christ and they will make Israel who is being protected jealous, even as Paul stated in Romans 11. But the process that God has chosen in nature is easy to see:
1 Corinthians 15:36 You fool! The seed you plant doesn’t come to life unless it dies first. (GOD’S WORD)
The Bride of Christ will be raised to newness of life once she has made herself ready.
I constantly hear good men (believers) maybe Calvinists say: but Jesus would never allow His bride to go through the Great Tribulation?
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (KJV)
