I’m sharing a short argument from which this post is inspired, you will find its link at the end concerning it. listen to its argument and then ask: Why, if this be his foundation for his belief, does this teacher not believe that the message concerning the great Tribulation recorded there to the seven churches is not also for the entire Church. For if his argument is correct, that the promise to be kept from the hour (as he believes this hour to be) recorded there to Philadelphia is to be meant for the entire Church; then surely these other events recorded for the seven churches are also for the entire Church.

But where he errs is in his proof; for there is no way to prove that the hour spoken of is the 7 years of Tribulation and great Tribulation.  In fact, according to Jesus there is a much shorter period of time coming after the Tribulation of those days. So why is this short time not the hour coming, from which we the Church will be kept?  Especially, when the Sun moon and stars are not shining during that time, and when men are to be seen calingl for the rocks to fall on them and hide them from the wrath of the lamb (Rev. 6).  The whole world will see His coming and experience that wrath.  But before this:

Revelation 2:22  Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Revelation 2:23  And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. (KJV)

ALL The churches here are to learn during the great Tribulation, likely because the Church itself is not yet ready and united, as in one bride during the Great Tribulation. That completion does not occur until chapter 19.

Revelation 19:7  Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (KJV)

So why might we think this period. Seen as the days of darkness are to be seen as the promised hour that we escape? Paul in keeping with all that is written about the coming of the day of the Lord, tells us that our Lord’s coming will occur as a thief in the night (1 Thess. 5). Jesus says it’s at a time of darkness Sun and moon not shining and the stars falling from the heavens. that only happens once. There is no other time that it will be dark all over this earth and that time is after the Tribulation of those days.
