For you will see Him as He Is. To Israel it is said:

Malachi 4:3, 5-6 You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,” says the Lord of hosts. “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.”

This promise from the Lord was in some ways usurped by the Church, or at least by factions within the Church in more recent centuries. It is claimed by some that Jesus and His bringing of a new Covenant in His Blood has brought the fulfillment of this and all other of Israel’s promises, but anyone with a clear understanding can see that this promise was never fulfilled. It remains to this day unfulfilled. Some have even believed that the western Church has seen the fulfillment of the promises to Israel, yet this one promise as well as many others is not yet fulfilled.

But the question then remains will it be? The answer is: yes, for if any promise by God is not carried out; then God’s Word is not true. Jesus told us that not one jot or tittle would go unfulfilled. The Day of the Lord is yet to come for all nations, and the nations and their ashes from their gathered armies, who come to a battle against Israel called Armageddon, will see the fulfillment as they are tread upon by the Nation of Israel.

The above will only come about following Elijah’s proclamations coming for a final time. This will be Elijah’s third and last coming. Twice as a forerunner. Although it must be said that John the Baptist came “in the Spirit of” Elijah.

Zachariah was told by the Angel concerning his son John’s coming:

Luke 1:17 “It is he who will go [as a forerunner] before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, TO TURN THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS BACK TO THE CHILDREN, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (NASB1995)

Although it is you and I today, who are among these prepared people; still the land of Israel remains under the curse of sin, because Messiah has not yet been received by her people. And so He; this Jesus the Son of God will not return, who left this earth until they call out “blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”. It shall be even as He taught:

Jesus informed us of a third visit of Elijah right after Elijah had appeared with Him on the mount where His Transfiguration took place:

Matthew 17:9 As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.” 10 And His disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 11 And He answered and said, “Elijah is coming and will restore all things; 12 but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” (NASB1995)

So when will Israel’s land curse be lifted? You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,” says the Lord of hosts. This will happen after Elijah will again appear during Tribulation after there is a Temple, and after Antichrist takes his place in the Temple, and after our Lords appearing in wrath to catch up His people and crush him and and his evil followers.

You, when you see these signs don’t lose heart, do not fear, but look up for your redemption is very near.

Matthew 10:39 “Whoever finds his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity]. (AMP)

He who endures in His faith either through death or until He comes will surely see Him and His salvation and His glory on that day. May you be strengthened in your faith as you stand firm in Him throughout this life.
