I don’t believe that we should bring politics into our posts unless they make a point pertinent to our faith. Some may question that that is what I’m doing here, but that’s ok.
At the end there is a link that prompted this post when I read it. I don’t know what Nunes intended when he sent this letter, but was it the right thing to do? In my opinion it was.
James 5:19 My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, 20 he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. (NET)
I’m not sure that Nunes is concerned for Schiff’s soul, but we should be. After all, ALL liars are doomed.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (KJV)
Again I do not know Nunes motivation, but rehabilitating Schiff would be the loving thing to do.

Seriously Jerry? You condemn Shiff here as the liar and give the orange grifter a free pass again?
You seem to have forgotten that you are supposed to be an ambassador for Christ.
This post does nothing to lift up Jesus Christ, but it does cast a shadow on christianity.
It would be better if you said nothing at all, keep your secular delusions to yourself.
God is no respecter of persons, do you understand this applies to the orange messiah?
Explain to me Jerry why it is that with the economy so great in the usa, that your national debt continues to sky rocket? The most debt incurred during a boom cycle. Why is the fed still pumping money into a hot economy?
Open your eyes Jerry and quit fanning seeds of division. This is garbage and is not good for your health.
I’ll expect an answer on the climbing debt under trump.

Yo are very correct concerning the debt. And Trump is no messiah. But neither should he be impeached. I’m a believer in a soon coming Tribulation probably started with economic collapse, but I’m not dividing the country. That job has already been taken. It is already divided.
Do you vote? If not is there not a moral distinction between parties? Believers I believe are to err on the side of morality, while loving the individuals involved. Jesus said by their fruits you shall know them. Shiff has torn the country in half, Trump is a Nebuchadnezzar of our day. He is a sinner just like us, but one placed by God, and seemingly blessed by God. Your thoughts?

No, that’s been the evangelical narrative that has not been proclaimed by God. It did work to get the vote though. Trump getting in is no miracle but it is a fine example of very smart and manipulative people working in the shadows. It was no miracle or accident, every move was calculated. I can assure you it’s not the first time.
I have no problems with people liking Trump, it’s when they try to pull God into it that I get mad.
I vote liberal, I believe all people should have the right to make mistakes, free choice is what God gives us, I try to-extend it to others, much like grace.
Wars have been going on since before Jesus appeared 2000 years ago. I personally don’t think we’re at the end times, but war is a reality that can break out when ever greedy and psychotic men who hold power decide.
I haven’t seen an impressive president since JFK, and even he was shifty.
I don’t like Trump as president but I’m waiting patiently for him to manifest anything of substance, so far nothing and I truly don’t think he will do anything other than divide America more and more.
I really hope I’m wrong, but in the meantime, it would be best not to involve onself in this circus. Especially those who name the name od Jesus Christ.

I like your passion, but I can’t think that God will relieve you and me of the responsibility to vote for morality as free will agents. Being libertarian is one thing, being in the progressive camp where Sodom returns this time to America is something we should be against. God was. One world order is coming, but do you think that God will accept with open arms those who bring it in? Just asking? And just what is our responsibility as free will agents?

Stephen one other point I forgot to make. Dividing the country over service to God on moral issues was what Jesus expected. He stated 34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.
Matthew 10:34-36 NASB

Our responsibility is not to be of this world. And to follow Jesus Christ. Politics is of this world, it’s the satanic trinity, political, financial and religious institutions, satan’s trinity. It’s how he rules his world.
We had the discussion about Soddom, God was angry with them for more than sodomy.
God never commanded me to vote on anything except to vote to follow Him.
You’ve taken it upon yourself to believe things which are not of God, don’t try and use God to push your agenda.
But then again Jerry, you’re free to do as you will.
Those who do evil are evil Jerry. We all will be responsible for ourselves, not others, unless one leads others astray.
Just cause something is lawful doesn’t mean we should do it.
I appreciate the dialogue

I agree we are in the world but not of it. But Jesus did drive the money changers out of the temple. He did pay his taxes. He was a carpenter. We are not to be uninvolved in the government. We are told to pray for our leaders. Why would we not exercise the freedom to vote? This country was founded by Christians trying to escape the tyranny of the world.

I’m not against voting, as far as I’m concerned it should be mandatory. But as long as it’s not, I’m indifferent. I believe that all political parties are the same. No matter who is in power, the same amount of people will be sacrificed on multiple alters to multiple god’s.
As for Jesus chasing money changers out of the temple, how much merchandise does your local religious organization sell?
Also, I don’t remember paying taxes Himself from money he earned. As for Jesus being a carpenter, that’s debatable, “Tekton” also translates as story teller. Though, He might of worked with wood, I don’t believe there’s any biblical account of that though.
Just to be clear Jerry, you mixing worldly stuff with the things of God does not make me think any less of you as a Brother and your love for Jesus Christ.
I have many friends who love Jesus very much and feel the same way you do about the political landscape. As you do, they tolerate my opposition to some of their beliefs, as I tolerate theirs. I just spent the morning with one such Brother, he is indeed a blessing as you are as well Jerry
Blessings

If the Lord can tolerate the two of us, He can make room for almost anyone.
