This is an article from which I have taken excerpts of quotes that were quoted on the NTEB WEBSITE. NOW THE END BEGINS, from which comes this statement:

“The Rapture won’t be a secret, but it will be a ‘surprise’”
Larken is analyzing 1 Thessalonians 5, about which this article says:
“We see from this that when Christ comes back it will be when we are not expecting Him. He will come as a thief comes. A thief does not announce his coming.”

But is this correct? It is Dispensational “truth”. But, Is this Truth? Listen:

1 Thessalonians 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. (KJV)

Instead of being surprised, Paul states that we are not overtaken as His coming overtakes the world. His coming is not as a thief to us, it is expected by us. “you are not in darkness”.

Why would Larken misrepresent what Paul says here? If one thinks as the Dispensationalist does that the Lords coming is always imminent; then it must be a “surprise” to us. But it won’t be. We will be looking for it if we remain alive at His coming.

Larken continues: “So the Lord at the Rapture will leave the wicked and the great mass of the heathen behind, for those who will be taken will be comparatively few.”
source – Dispensational Truth, by Clarence Larkin

This last quote is actually true. The lord will remove those of us who remain just before He pours out His (Greek word-Orge) Wrath at His Revelation to the world. And the world will not only be surprised by this thief, but will be calling out for the rocks to hide them from the wrath of the Lamb as we shall later see.

Following this the websites author once again refers to Larken in what they call

“The Revelation, or Stage 2”.
“Again, we turn to that excellent, old-school Bible scholar Clarence Larkin for insight on ‘Stage 2’, the Revelation of Jesus
Christ, and this time it’s for the entire world to see.
Again Larken’s quote: At the “Second Stage” of Christ’s Second Coming, the “Revelation, ” we shall behold His “Glory.” When Jesus came the first time He was disguised in the flesh. The “Incarnation” was the hiding of His Power, the veiling of His Deity. Now and then gleams of glory shot forth as on the Mt. of transfiguration; but when He comes the Second Time we shall behold Him clothed with the glory He had with the Father before the world was. The “Revelation” will be as sudden and as unexpected as was the “Rapture.” The sun will rise on that day strong and clear. End Quote.

We can see here in what he states that the Rapture and the Revelation are both sudden and unexpected events to the world. Certainly they are thus because they are the same event. He says that on the day of Jesus Revelation or His coming that the sun will rise on that day, but it won’t. Listen:

Mark 13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. (KJV)

Christ’s Revelation and our Rapture will proceed the outpouring of His Orge wrath. This is immediately after the Tribulation which was when Satan’s wrath, and God’s Thumos wrath were poured out.

Following his statement concerning the sun rising on this day Larken continues:

“Gentle breezes will waft themselves over the earth. There will be no signs of a storm or of the coming judgment. The people will be buying and selling, building and planting, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. The statesmen will be revolving in their minds new plans for the world’s betterment. The philanthropic will be devising new ways to help the people. The pleasure-loving will be seeking new sources of pleasure. The wicked will be plotting dark deeds; and the unbelieving will be proving to their own satisfaction that there is no God, no heaven, no hell, no coming judgment, when suddenly there will be a change. In the distant heaven there will appear a

outshining the sun. It will be seen descending toward the earth. As it descends it will assume the form of a bright cloud, out of which shall stream dazzling beams of light, and flashes of lightning. It will descend apace as if on wings of the whirlwind, and when it reaches its destination over the brow of the Mt. of Olives it will stop and unfold itself to the terrified and awestricken beholders, and there will be revealed to them Jesus seated on a “White Horse” (Rev. 19:16) and accompanied with His Saints and the armies of Heaven. Then shall be fulfilled what Jesus foretold in His Olivet Discourse-“Then shall appear the sign (a cloud) of the Son of Man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of Heaven WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY.” Matt. 24:30.”

As we can see Larken omitted the darkness in the sun moon and stars, because this darkness would too much resemble the darkness required for Jesus to come in the night as a thief to Rapture us, as in 1 Thessalonians chapters 4&5. This darkness would be all over the earth. No sun will shine on this day of the Lord’s coming. And yes the tribes of the earth will mourn, for the wrath of the Lamb has come following this period of possibly more than one day of darkness.

Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (KJV)

Was it dark when they said this?

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. (KJV)

All you need do is read Revelation 19:15 to see when this outpouring of the Lamb’s wrath is to occur.

Satan’s strongholds are established within man even the Christian’s by not believing God, but instead believing a lie. So you must ask how does a wrong belief concerning Jesus coming to resurrect His bride benefit Satan? Some are obviously wrong in the timing of this next appearance of Our Lord. If the Rapture comes tomorrow or today and I am wrong the Dispensationalists tell me that I will still go in the Rapture. True they say that I may lose a reward, but I can’t lose my salvation even though God would call me a false prophet.

But, if I am understanding Scriptures correctly then if the Dispensationalist becomes the false prophet; then just how does that stronghold within the church benefit Satan? A reading of the Scriptures would tell me that false prophets and those who believe them would have a very strong possibility of falling away.

The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it? Jeremiah 5:31

But this was the Old Testament wasn’t it. Today even though we have “respected” teachers and preachers all over the board concerning doctrine; it is ok, because of Grace. It is as though God was not Gracious in Old Testament Times. But remember the Bereans, they checked out Paul teachings using the only scriptures they had — the Old Testament, — to be sure that he was God’s true prophet.

Do not be deceived, God is God He changes not. If most of Old Testament Israel, God’s chosen people fell and were cut from the Olive tree containing God’s chosen; then what might happen to God’s chosen of today?

Romans 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. (KJV)

Faith is the key to standing. And faith comes by what?

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Study the word of God, not the word of men, for God’s word is truth. It seems reasonable to believe that a belief system founded upon the word will produce a more pure faith than one founded without the backing of the word. Which of these understandings will benefit Satan.
