Today’s post will be the final in the Rapture scriptures series. Remember all these passages are listed as pre-Trib rapture passages, but by now you should be aware that these verses tell a different story. There has been nothing stated in any one of these verses that would tell us that the writer is expecting two future Coming events involving our Lord.

1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. (KJV)

Jesus in John calls Himself the good Shepherd, but He did something more. He placed Himself as Shepherd over a Jewish flock, but He clearly told us and them that He had other sheep who were not of their flock. Listen: John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. (KJV)

It was not just the sheep Fold of Israel that Jesus came to Shepherd. John tells us those who are included, when relating to us Caiaphas’ own words concerning this Shepherd — Listen:

John 11:50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. 51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; 52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. (KJV)

When the Shepherd appears it is to the entire flock of those who then shall know Him.

1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (KJV)1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (KJV)

Those who endure to the end abiding in Him shall be like Him at His coming, immortal, sons of God, — those who exercised the power given them to become like Him. (John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (KJV))

Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (KJV)

When He returns He will Judge with mercy all men who are His who are kept in the Love of God until His Coming.

Revelation 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. (KJV)

Again He encourages us to endure until the end as He did in Matthew 24.

Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept my admonition to endure steadfastly, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come on the whole world to test those who live on the earth. (NET)

You may want to read my post, What does Revelation 3:10 Mean To the Believer and to the World As We and They Observe Approaching Tribulation? (Sept.12/2018. This hour that we are promised to be kept from is discussed in that post. I will just say here that it is not the Tribulation.

So if you have followed these 7 posts dealing with Rapture verses, then you should have a good feel for just when this rapture is to occur. To think that we would be the only ones, a special group from within the sheepfold, who are favored over all these other sheep, because we are the only ones really looking forward to Jesus Coming is misleading. To think that the Tribulation is God’s wrath is misleading. To think that Jesus is coming for a church (a bride) with many spots and wrinkles (a doctrinally divided Bride), and that He is coming before that bride has made herself ready which Revelation 19 reveals to be following Tribulation is misleading. To think that Jesus Coming as a thief is before the Tribulation and before the battle of Armageddon is misleading. To think that the churches (plural) will not see great Tribulation before they become the bride who has made herself ready is misleading. To think that the wrath of the Lamb occurs before the sun, moon and stars cease their shining: before the day of the Lord actually begins, is misleading, and is scripturally in error.
