Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever. And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished. Revelation 15:7-8 NASB

Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished. Revelation 15:1 NASB

(“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”) And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon. Revelation 16:15-16 NASB

And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “ KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh. Revelation 19:11,15-16,20-21 NASB

These are excerpts from the last few days prophesied concerning man’s history; the days of the consummation of this age of humanity as we know it. This will end the days of man’s rule and institute a new day on this earth after its having been renewed.

It is said of wrath in these verses that “it is finished”. One might ask just how that could be when the Great white throne judgment awaits all who are without Christ. In order to know that answer one must consider the timing of the pouring out of the seven bowls.

There are various understandings surrounding the bowls. But the first three bowls I believe actually reveal a rather short duration to the pouring out of God’s wrath.

So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died. Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “ Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things; for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it.” Revelation 16:2-6 NASB

There is every indication given the above verses that the bowls of wrath are for those worshiping the beast and wearing its mark. The second and third bowls turn water to blood. This based on verse 6 would include all drinking water. That being the case life as we know it can only last a few days. “You can go 100 hours without drinking at an average temperature outdoors,” Claude Piantadosi of Duke University told Fox. “If it’s cooler, you can go a little longer. If you are exposed to direct sunlight, it’s less.”

Given these facts it would seem that the bowls must all be poured out at practically the same time in order to accomplish the intent that God here reveals for them. But with this event scripture says that God’s wrath is finished. In order for this to be the case the effects of this wrath must penetrate into Hell itself, because the wrath of God is intended for all of mankind who ever lived apart from Christ’s redemptive work.
