I should give credit to my friend and Bible teacher Gregg Abbott, and also credit to the following web sites’ article for this post.
I should clarify: actually nether of these credits agree with me, but both have stated things this week that have sparked the germ of an idea for this article. In the above referenced post the author, who does not identify himself, makes observation that the seventh trumpet of Revelation is blown in the Middle of Tribulation. He therefore never considers the possibility for this Trumpet to be an announcement of The Post-Trib or actual Second Coming Trumpet that as we will see it most likely is. This I believe becomes evident to us when reading about it from this scripture.
This Seventh Trumpet announcement comes in Rev. 10:7. Here it states plainly that there is a reason for this being the timing of this Trumpet. It “is about to sound” because “the mystery of God is finished, as He preached to His servants the prophets.” This speaks that the big climax is at hand; the Revelation is complete; the consummation of this age is come. The question you must ask is this — is this understanding that I have just stated confirmed or not when you read about this trumpet’s sounding in Rev. 11:15-19?
Following the trumpet, which is the seventh and last, the angel states:
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord”. This statement gives confirmation to Daniel chapter 7.
“We give thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who art and who wast,” [(and who is to come) that’s right this bracketed phrase is missing — but Why? —] “because Thou hast taken Thy great power and hast begun to reign.” All of the prophecy’s that has ever been prophesied about His Second Coming have now come to a point of fulfillment.
“And the nation’s were enraged,” yes, Armageddon has happened just as it is prophesied in scripture. Even the prophecy’s in the remainder of Revelation concerning this great end time battle has seen its revelation at Jesus coming. He, who is the spirit of prophecy, and the prophet, who Moses prophesied, would come after him — they are all now fulfilled up to and including His established reign.
“and Thy wrath came” yes the seven bowls of wrath are finished just as Revelation 16 (even now says prophetically) that they will be. So following the sounding of the Seventh trumpet they are consummated.
“and the time came for the dead to be judged,” the Millennium is now under way. It is what Rosh Hashanah celebrates as the long day of Judgment. This time which is now future, has come with the sounding of this 7th trumpet.
“and the time to give their reward to Thy Bond-servants the prophets and to the saints and to those who fear Thy name, the small and the great,” yes, John had prophesied that this book was for us His bond-servants, who are to then after this trumpet’s sounding be rewarded; but today who are to read and understand listen:
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, (Revelation 1:1 NASB).
My friend and brother in Christ are you listening? Do you have ears to hear? Because this rewarding does not come in heaven during Tribulation but after it on earth.
“and to destroy those who destroy the earth.” Yes, the time has come — the day of the Lord following the time of Antichrist the Tribulation just as the prophet Paul stated it in 2 Thessalonians 2: his words are also at the sounding of the seventh trumpet confirmed.
So, we can believe what we want, because God has given us the freedom that we may do that, but God’s word is truth, always was, always is, and always will be.
One other consideration. The two witnesses of Revelation 11, will be in place for 1260 days. The time of their resurrection would seem to be the correct time for the Resurrection of the righteous dead at the second coming. Just take a look at where it falls in this chapter 11. Right in between the announcement of the Seventh Trump in chapter 10:7, and the actual blowing of this Trump in chapter 11 vs 15.
God bless you as you study and ponder these things.
