The straight and narrow is not a boring road as one from the world and unfamiliar with it might imagine. It’s a somewhat dangerous journey, but the scenery, oh the scenery is so beautiful at times. And the people you meet, they offer some of the most profound insights into life.

The road takes us through valleys that are filled with dread, and that require all the physical, mental and Spiritual strength that one can muster. No it’s not an easy road, oh there are those who claim it to be, but in most cases I find that they are seated in one of the shelters on the top of Mt Calvary, where the narrow gate is located. To leave the shelter is scary business, but following Jesus requires it. The trek down through the valley from Mt Calvary is very steep and narrow with occasional pits, vipers and false prophets luring you toward them.

Coming away from the shelter often requires encouragement from others, and then there are always those who unfortunately must be left behind. Outside, there are foot hills in the near distance, and beyond them as far out as you can see is a mountain peak that those you’ve met call Mt Blessed Hope. It is the promise for all who travel this road. Following Jesus will actually take you there.

Though we cannot see beyond this there awaits Jesus and the Kingdom on the other side.

The foothills that I have crested and I’m sure those that you have crested offer some of the greatest views when we look back over those valleys already traversed. But the path that lay ahead is under heavy cloud and midst, and only the word and Jesus allows the light that illumines each step. Wait someone just ahead has shown their light on a dangerous loose shoulder. One of my family members is dangerously close to this shoulder. I hope to see you on the other side. Right now this one is requiring all my attention. Lord Jesus, this requires more than I have to offer, please strengthen her through this section of road. I know that we are on the Way and that we can totally trust you for the outcome.

Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

John 14:6 NASB

God bless you until next time.
