If we Gentile believers are grafted into the Olive Tree, which represents something that pre-existed the blessings brought to the Gentiles, and if this was achieved by the cutting off of Jewish branches; and if that something was the church in the wilderness (Israel) with Jesus as it’s root — then when is Jesus coming for us? See my article on this website: WHAT IS IMPLIED IN JESUS TITLE THE ROOT, sept. 28.
In Daniel chapter 7 we have a picture of the end-Time dominions that will effect Israel. I give much more detail in the book, but the Lion, the bear, the 4 headed leopard and the 10 horned beast from which arises the Antichrist will all be players before Messiah returns. I believe that they represent, England, Russia, the Muslim nation descendants of Ishmael, and the United Nations which will morff into and incorporate the others and produce the Antichrist, as this is described in Revelation’s picture of this same beast.
Also we find in this picture America — the eagles wings plucked from the Lion. These dominions are all present when Messiah is given His kingdom, which is taken from the Antichrist.
Antichrist’s war with the saints, those we are one with in scripture, is also mentioned in this chapter of Daniel. Jesus comes for these saints following Satan’s dominion which is over these saints.
Jesus Himself speaks of these days in Matthew 24 and in Mark 13:
24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.
Mark 13:24-27 NASB
There are those who try to say that these elect are not us, but a separate people existing in Modern Israel representing the restoration of The Old Testament nation Israel, but the truth of Scripture is that 1/3 of these modern Jews will be added back to the Olive tree where you and I now reside because of our belief in their Messiah. It is this same Jesus that they will also come to believe in bringing about His return to physically Rapture them and any Gentile believers remaining on earth when He returns.
Those who tell us that there is this separation of Israel from the mostly Gentile Church of today have no Scriptural basis for a future separation. We must insist on existing literal scriptural proof in order to believe this. They can not point to one scripture which says that there will be an undoing of this oneness between Jew and Gentile believers. Neither can they point to one scripture proving that the Rapture is a separate event from this first resurrection depicted in the scriptures timing which Jesus taught here for the gathering of His elect. (See article titled Another Bit Of Man’s Wisdom From Tribulation Rising. Determining from scripture The Elect of God)
The belief is that the resurrection occurs in several stages, as does the rapture. That would require that God has several categories of saved peoples. This belief has to separate the saints of scripture who Paul says we are one with (one new man). The understanding of several stages of the resurrection is based on 1 Corinthians 15:20-23.
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,
1 Corinthians 15:20-23 NASB
Specifically the many stages to the Resurrection understanding is based on this phrase “But each in his own order”. So what is the order “Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,” — a coming that is nowhere in scripture depicted as two comings or stated in the plural. Yet this is necessary if there is any possibility of dividing the saints who are one in what is called the body, which is the bride of Messiah. Believe me, I was raised with this belief and I know the questions that it poses when compared with scripture.
The belief that there are two peoples of God two brides — one for The Father and one for the Son Just is not in Scripture. This part of the belief is based on The Father God being Israel’s husband in the Old Testament and divorcing her for her unfaithfulness. However the only real evidence as to which in the Godhead (Father or Son) is her husband is revealed in the Old Testament Isaiah 54 passage.
“ Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child; Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed; For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous Than the sons of the married woman,” says the Lord . “For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left. And your descendants will possess nations And will resettle the desolate cities. “Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. “For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth. “For the Lord has called you, Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” Says your God.
Isaiah 54:1,3-6 NASB
So what does this say to us. It speaks of a married woman who’s descendants will possess Nations. A woman who’s shame of widowhood is to be forgotten. How was she widowed? — read chapter 53 which precedes these verses. This is a woman who’s maker and redeemer (Jesus) is her husband. In the beginning was the Word and the word was God, and without Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
Those who are saved who are Jews do not represent the entire nation, they are a remnant as Paul explains in Romans 11. When all who are adopted are finally safe in the root (Messiah), then all Israel will be saved. That will include you and I Then we will be a Holy Nation a Royal Priesthood unto our God. Then we will be revealed along with the saved of Israel as the Sons of God (See Luke 20:27&35-36).
Some believe when they here that “all Israel will be saved” that this means that all Jews are of the chosen Nation or People Israel and therefore they are all saved. Yet, Jesus allowed us to see that this is not truth, when He told us of the rich man and Lazarus. These were both citizens of Israel, but one wound up in torment, the other in Abraham’s bosom.
Are you in Christ, the Messiah of Israel, in Him? If not God is calling you. He is wooing you to a place of rest and trust in Him. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, but only those who believe are given the power to become the sons of God. He calls us to turn away from the love of the creation and toward the creator who made all of this. He calls us to receive Him the river of living water which will overflow us and give us eternal life with Him. He calls us to be part of the one new man in Him. No more Jew or Gentile, no more male or female but one new, born again, Spirit filled man in Him. It is your choice to either follow Him or reject Him. Choose ye this day whom you will serve. He loves you, and asks that you love Him. If you choose Him you will have a blessed hope.
We will take up the resurrection in part 4.
