These words from Spurgeon are powerful, and certainly they represent God’s word very well. But in so stating, they also should bring grief. For if our preachers are to be greater than John the Baptist and thus more impactful for the sake of the gospel; then we must only have a very low percent, who will find themselves actually in the Kingdom, and what must that say of the congregant? Unless our savior is speaking of what we will accomplish during the Millennium, we may all be in trouble. May His Grace richly abound. Jp
