Spurgeon keeps me thinking. At times I think him to believe in total predestination, and then there are times like this, when he states things like this: “Are there not many among us who once walked humbly with God, and near to Him, who have fallen into carnal security?” Carnal security is false security. Maybe you disagree with me? But Spurgeon further states: “Once Christ was all with you, brethren; is it so now?” This his message and such statements do cause me to think myself to be correct in my belief that once we have been born of God and given the right to become the sons of God as John states it in John 1, that then we must not blow it. We must abide in Him in our faith walk, for else-wise we can do nothing profitable for Him. And we must endure in that walk unto the end otherwise, if we deny Him, He is clear that He will deny us.
