This following link reveals many of these prophecies most not recorded here by me.  The real meat of this section on the Christ will come from ChatGPT’s answers to my inquires, which will follow in tomorrow’s post.  But these are prophecies fulfilled. Some say that there are over 200 such.

List of Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Jesus

I will list some of them here with some pertinent comment.

Isaiah 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace

Micah 5:2  But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Isaiah 7:14  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Daniel 9:26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;…

Here Daniel reveals both the death of Messiah and the fact that He will die before the city and temple are destroyed.   This occurred in 70 AD, and was also prophesied by Jesus Himself.   Both facts are overlooked by Jewish scholars, and by most agnostics.

Hosea 11:1  When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

Both Israel and her Messiah God’s Son would be called forth out of Egypt.  Joseph had fled to Egypt to escape Herod’s slaughter of the children under 2 years old which took place in Bethlehem.

Isaiah 53:3  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Zechariah 9:9  Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Psalm 41:9  Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

The following was this prophecy’s fulfillment and more detail is then given concerning Judas.

Mark 14:10  And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

Zechariah 11:12  And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

The betrayal of Messiah is well prophesied in the Old Testament and we see it fulfilled in Jesus own life.

Matthew 26:15  And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

Yes there is even more concerning Judas in the O.T.:

Zechariah 11:13  And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prized at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

Matthew 27:5-7  And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.

Isaiah 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:12  Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

It’s interesting that although you my friend had your sins paid for by Him; that still you are not among these many for whom He died, because you still refuse Him.

Psalm 22:16  For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Psalm 69:21  They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

John 19:29  Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

This following is an O.T. prophecy of His future return, with the scars of His crucifixion still visible.  It reveals more of those things within their Scriptures, which are overlooked by the Jews concerning their Messiah.

Zechariah 12:10  And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Psalm 22:18  They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Psalm 34:20  He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

Isaiah 53:9  And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Psalm 16:10  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Jesus own body complete with its scars was resurrected. According to Isiah His beard was also plucked.  Isaiah says that He was marred more than any man.  Perhaps this is why He was not recognized by either Mary at the tomb, or by the disciples that He walked with on the road to Emmaus.  Understand that if this was aa made up story then He would have been recognized.

Psalm 68:18  Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.

All of these are specific prophecies concerning things that we readily will read in the gospels about Jesus.  There are obviously many more. But you have hope for  it says in the above verse “for the rebellious also”.

Tomorrow we will get into CHATGPT’s answers to my questions about Jesus and His fulfillment of prophecy. Don’t miss it my friend.
