The following email was sent to Bob. He lives in my neighborhood. He is proud of his Atheism. I told him that I was asking for your prayers on his behalf, as you shall see here.
Bob, Ellen told me about your conversation with her and with Julie yesterday. I want you to know that I appreciate your attempt at honesty within your own thinking. As I understand it the three of you were discussing faith. You and I have had similar discussions in the past. Here are some of the definitions. Your’s is one listed. There is also a Bible definition, that I also show below:

Here is the Webster def:

Here is the Bible definition:

Note that the Bible references “evidence” in its definition. Your issue is: “where is the evidence”. You, I think would agree with me that faith is a personal matter. One of the definitions above is the reliance or belief in and therefore upon the testimony of another. You have not yet experienced God. That is your testimony. Your evidence therefore is in your own testimony and the testimony of others whose are like minded to you own. You have determined that the evidence of believers is non evidence, yet individuals can through testimony give you their evidence. But you must decide if their witness is credible. I’ve offered to share my testimony with you in a past letter that I had written to you.
Below is a movie that is of a little boy who saw himself while on the operating table due to a ruptured appendix. If you read this Wikipedia description of the plot then you can make a judgment on its evidence. The story is about a pastor, who himself had a hard time believing until this event happened to his family: I’ll not ruin it for you by telling you more.

And below is a link to the film itself on u-Tube. I will gladly pay you back for the rental. If you think it not to be evidence for faith in the God of the Bible. In fact, I would love to have you come here and watch it with me. The movie depicts the true story of this family of this pastor.
And in full disclosure, I intend to pray and ask others to pray for you: First to have a tug within your inner spirit to want to know if what I’m saying here is worthy of your further examination. Secondly, I’m asking that they pray for you to allow yourself the liberty to further explore in search of your own personal evidence for the God of the Bible.
Bob the fact that God did not strike you dead as a result of your action, which I witnessed and wrote you about; that fact tells me, because of my own evidence for the existence of this God, who is unseen; that He is not finished with you. Does He love you? That is up to you alone to find out.
