The answer is yes, but for some of you, there is the need for more than that. And I get it. I had always believed that, especially here in America, we were focused on helping individuals and even other nations to be good at living the abundant life. Our focus was on good works toward others or at least this is what we expected.
But, for me, although I knew that there was evil in the world, it was hard to conceive myself, of any great evil until I began to see good represented to be evil.
I watched as babies became through away items in order to fulfill self’s own pleasures. I watched as wars were fought, some for good, and some for no good reason. I watched as politicians lied to win votes. I watched as Donald Trump was impeached for a phone call, while Schumer and others were threatening the Supreme Court justices, who did not agree with their agenda. Evil was injustice. I watched as cities burned; policeman were spit upon and yes even murdered. I watched as gays, who at one time were ashamed to be sinners (as were all of us who hated our sin), but then suddenly, abortionists and gay folks were extremely proud to be guilty of sin. Evil was called good. And no longer was it acceptable to call out their sin. Much of this came about following prayer and Bible reading becoming taboo in the schools across America. So yes evil does exist in various forms. And evil has this way of shaming good into submission, when it is unleashed to transform good into evil. Is this not what is happening? A preacher is no longer allowed to preach on sins destructive force, and he is shamed for doing so. Those who today are awakening to see the evil for what it is are not willing to accept evil in themselves or in their society, without calling it out for what it is.
If you believe in Jesus you will understand that evil does exist, and it exists often as a very deceptive force; otherwise good could never be transformed into evil. It disguises itself as being good, while at the same time calling what is good by its own name (evil).
If one truly does not believe that Jesus’ purpose was to make a way for mankind through His bringing in a new way of living (the New Covenant) in order that we are to find redemption for our own sin, and in order for the world to overcome evil; then for them evil has an increased power to deceive in these last days.
If evil did not exist, a company executive, who is obviously considered a good man, could not perform an evil act, and in his own mind consider it good even when he and a host of others are engaging in the destruction of another company Tesla and its products. I could of course go on and have done much explaining of the world’s condition in other posts, but we either understand this concept or we don’t. This is why in John 17 Jesus prayed, knowing what the world represented, stating that His prayer was to be not for the world, but for those that His Father had given to Him. The world is lost. His people are being called out of the world. We are not of the world, even though we are in it. This world is not our home.
