I want to thank my granddaughter-in-law Merideth Smith Parks for making me aware of the need to bring certain understandings to light on this controversy. Though we may all see things differently, our reasons for those differences can be suspect. Our examination of our faith differences should always be established upon the firm foundation provided us through Christ our savior. He is the Word of God made flesh.
In order to understand mindsets, one must engage facts. If you want to draw an accurate conclusion you must have an understanding of such facts. Thus I give you this comparison of Bishop Budde’s understandings of doctrine vs the conventional understanding of Christian doctrine. I’ll attempt to follow this up later with my own thoughts on the controversy, and I will try to relate it to these differences.
