Actually it is also easy to dislike what you do understand. There is much today that is understood to be evil. Our Biblical instruction is our guide. But what happens, when men are chosen, by men, for their Biblical instruction, when those men don’t even believe that God indwells believers or instructs them in His word? If all were instructed of God there would only be disciples instructed by disciples. So the Bible inspired by the Holy Spirit of God was the gift unto believing men chosen by God. These have informed us in His Word concerning both true and false teachers. If one’s study does not include the Scriptures themselves; then you have nothing with which to discern truth from falsehood.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (KJV)

Notice that there is a division within scripture. Scripture is learned and taught: here a little there a little. Listen to what He says to us while we are yet unforgiven sinners:

Isaiah 28:13 So the word of the LORD to them will be, “Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there,” That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared and taken captive. (NASB1995)

This verse is written to men who will not hear, with a purpose that they be taken captive by their own sin; but there is hope given in verse 16. That hope is Christ the Cornerstone. He gives the Holy Spirit who also leads us captive to the truth, which is only understood in Him. And He leads us in the discovery of that truth, which formerly was unknown and nonsense to us. If this word remains untaught by His Spirit it will lead us to our self made destruction. Rightly dividing the word of truth is not for us to determine, but is only done for us by God Spirit within us.

The unbelief of His Word is the very thing that took down the Jewish religious leadership in Jesus day. It is still their problem. One day soon a purged remnant from Israel will call upon Him whom they have pierced. Lord we pray for that day when all Israel will finally be believers in their Messiah.

And Then The End Shall Come.
