God can and will use anything that comes our way to speak wisdom into our life, should we choose to let Him.

You may think that I have very few comments that come back to me on these posts that I make, and you would be right if you were to view the comments section of each blog. Nevertheless, the other day I was involved in discussion resulting from a post, with an email group on which I share my posts. One of the friends that we have known for many years, I have now come to think, has out of some frustration in his life, made this statement to me about my posts: he said “Jerry, I don’t believe what you wrote, in fact I don’t believe anything that you write about.”

Now understand, those words can have more than one meaning. They can lead to good if pursued in the correct way.

In my case, if spoken to me years ago, they would have led me into a state of funk, but somehow, and I don’t know how God does this; but, I am changed by Him in that regard. He does change us. We all need hope.

Because I now recognize the extreme amount of hurt that my sin, our sin, caused our Savior, I’m not afraid, or cowardly about speaking to you the reader of these blogs about the hate that God has (not for you the person. He died for you and me, if we will accept that act of His on our behalf), but because His hatred is for the sin in our lives, that fact can also lead us to despair. Jesus, came here to destroy the works of the Devil for all, who want to be free from them and free from the evil that they cause for themselves and others.

God has let us know in His Word that He hates sin, and we in order to become godly will learn with Him to love the sinner and to also hate the sin that separated us and them from Him and even from Their fellowship intended for us, as we express His truths together. Now I should add that we can and do still occasionally sin or fall, but God within us (His Holy Spirit) convicts us when we do. That conviction is to lead us to repent, turning toward righteousness which God intends for us to walk therein:

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; (NASB2020)

The Holy Spirit uses scripture to teach us Gods ways from His Scripture. The object is to bring us to righteousness. Jesus told us this:

John 16:13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. (NASB2020)

So the Holy Spirit teaches us. His leading is from the Word taking us into all truth. But He is more than that to us. Jesus wants us to know what is to come. In fact, that also means that we are discerning of what actually is.

It is our job to hold in high regard those teachings from God’s Spirit.

2 Timothy 1:14 Protect, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to [you.]. 15 You are aware of the fact that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. (NASB2020)

There is a truth fact taught in Scripture concerning those who knew Christ or of Him yet, they have fallen away. This is made known to us by Paul in other places, but here it is concerning actual persons. This is what happens when we fail to guard the truth of the Scriptures. That failure causes men to actually reject those who stand for that truth.

If one is telling us things that are not supported by that truth as it is taught us by His Spirit from the Word of God; then we must recognize that they may have turned away. We need to be certain that we have done what the Holy Spirit is leading us to do: if that is attempting to convince them where they are incorrect; then we must do what we are convicted to do.

James 5:19 My brothers [and sisters,] if anyone among you strays from the truth and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that the one who has turned a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. (NASB2020)

We are very fortunate to have the Word of God and the Spirit of God to guide us as we discuss such things.

We must still pray for and share with all brothers, and hopefully they will pray for us; we all need at times to be “reprimanded”. We are not to give up on one another. I have asked God to reveal to me my own flaws in my communications. I want to see good and not evil abound in those whose lives I have contacted through my books and through this blog. The body of Christ needs to be in unity loving one another: this was Jesus’ prayer for us. The verses such as that one in James quoted above are necessary for us to follow Holy Spirit’s leadings. These actions are to aid us toward that unity, or to direct us until such time as that prayer from Jesus is answered by our Father for His Spirit to bring about this unity in us all. It is needed, because we live in very different days. The days of which have in many ways never been seen before; even though they are seen in His Word.
