John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have [it] abundantly. (NASB1995)

When the destroyer comes in like a flood God will raise up an army against him. God’s army does not need to be large to be effective. Consider Gideon. But this enemy is here in America in force. We now see the effects of this destroyer, who seeks to eliminate all that is holy in this land. And you are here for a moment like this, to be strong in the Lord.

John 14:30 “I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; (NASB1995)

We seem to forget that the world is the abode of an army of angels who were cast from heaven due to a rebellion against God.

John 12:40 “HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM.” (NASB1995)

For some reason Satan has been allowed a power in this world that we can only overcome in Christ. And we are challenged to be among those who overcome. Be an overcomer.

John 12:35 So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. (NASB1995)

John 12:48 “He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. (NASB1995)

Satan’s power to blind men is ever present. Even when Jesus was present the evidence was also there of this enemies power. He is the ruler of this world.

John 14:8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”

John 14:9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and [yet] you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how [can] you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

John 14:10 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. (NASB1995)

Jesus had made clear His association with the creation. He had stated before religious leaders: “before Abraham was I Am”. He was the I Am in the burning bush with Moses. He was in Geneses with his Father in Creation.

John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” (NASB1995)

He reveals Himself to the men and women of a contrite heart. To the one who knows that without Him we can do nothing worthy of His sacrifice for us. We cannot love as we should. We cannot treat others in His wisdom which will lead them to Him. For He says:

John 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither [can] you unless you abide in Me. (NASB1995)

He separates us out of the world. No longer are we under the rule of the evil one:

John 15:19 “If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. (NASB1995)

The leader of this world seeks to lead mankind to destruction:

John 16:13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. (NASB1995)

If we are still blinded then we are unable to see the truth all around us, but in Him we see the truth; and we can know how to pray for those around us, whom it is God’s desire to bring out of the darkness into the light. Jesus is the light of the world. Satan comes only to rob kill and destroy. He satan is the destroyer. Jesus gives light to all who turn to Him. He says: I am the way the truth and the light.

God is not offended by rejection, but it is His desire that all would come to the knowledge of the truth concerning our future with Him, and there is no meaningful truth concerning that outside of Him.
