The request from Frank, was for me to provide my thinking on this movie titled: “I Still Believe”, since I had admittedly not seen it. I appreciate your asking me to watch it Frank. To the rest of you, if you have not watched this movie you should. It was a different movie, but one as Frank said, with a twist. It was not just for believers, but it certainly speaks I believe of God’s desire for us all to trust Him, and that would definitely include His followers.

This true story could have brought the Christian world to a place of very great disappointment with no explanation for the inaction on the part of God, but that was not the case. Every young believer and some who are not so young, who follow this genre of music, had to be touched by what was so openly lived out before them even on the musical stage. But it was before them to see because it was for them; for you; for us all. I say for them because of God’s message to whosoever will listen. I say could have been a disappointment because most would not have seen the whole story if not for the movie.

◦ God first showed us all what the power of His people turning to Him in believing prayer would do, as He did answer as Melissa, was totally healed, and she and Jeremy were then married.

◦ Then came a twist as God sent us two messages that together should challenge but in the end build our faith to new heights. First God established for us that He alone is God when He allowed (yes He allowed it) the total healing to be reversed, but He was not done. For He again revealed through Melissa her complete healing just minutes before taking her home to be His very own.

What seems from this the primary concern of God in all of our lives is the salvation of every person, who will hear his voice. His power to heal in this life is a powerful message to unbelievers as well as to us believers, but here God, I believe, wanted especially unbelievers to know that the healing that accompanies our passage from this life into His very presence is the greatest miracle of all. I say that He wanted them and all to know, because if He had not wanted us to know, then He could have just taken Mellisa even as He must have intended to do all along, but through the healing He let us know that He is in control. And without that healing that is promised for us all at the end of our life, we will not see eternal life with Him to explore this miraculous creation that is depicted in this film. Understanding this is to each of us individually the most magnificent miracle that will ever come to any one of us, and please understand it is for every one who will believe.

No wonder Jeremy wrote the song “I still Believe”. But there was still another twist, and I’ll not tell you about that.
