Speaking to us of Noah’s day Jesus clearly stated:

Matthew 24:39 They were not aware of what was happening until the flood came and swept all of them away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes again. 24:40 “At that time two men will be working in the field. One will be taken, and the other one will be left. (GOD’S WORD)

◦ Jesus here is speaking. He is the One who came once to invade history because of His great love for His Creation, but here in these verses He is describing the time of His return as the Sovereign ruler and judge. This time throughout Scripture is known as the day of The Lord.

◦ Because of God’s grace and mercy, mankind has had the tendency to ignore this coming Day, for it is a day of God’s wrath. True it will come because of His love, but just as in Noah’s day, which Jesus alludes to here in these verses, there will be quick and extremely sudden Judgment for some, but a sure and Just judgment for others will follow. But verse 40, depicts the quick but purposeful sweeping away of the evil from the land. As in Noah’s day one is taken in judgment. But in other descriptions of this in scripture it is determined to be a massive extinction of evil from God’s own creation.

◦ Revelation 19:15 A sharp sword comes out of his mouth to defeat the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter and tread the winepress of the fierce anger of God Almighty. 19:16 On his clothes and his thigh he has a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords. 17 I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, “Come! Gather for the great banquet of God. 19:18 Eat the flesh of kings, generals, warriors, horses and their riders, and all free people and slaves, both important or insignificant people.” 19:19 I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. (GOD’S WORD)

This same Son of God depicted here with the sword (his Word) protruding from His mouth is the same One, who spoke the heavens and the earth into existence. And He will again, needing only the word of His mouth, speak a judgment of evil which will immediately eradicate some, and following it will continue the cleansing of the Earth of any further unrighteousness.

Though the Rapture, of which I have written much to you, has taken place immediately as this time (Rev.16:14-21), which is known as Armageddon is evolving; still this taking of men, where one is taken and one is left is for judgment and not rapture. In the day of Noah it was judgment, which came upon the earth rapidly. But in this day The Day of The Lord, a cleansing and purification will continue upon this earth for 1000 years. For one day to the Lord is as 1000 years to mankind. If you read Ezekiel’s version of this time beginning in chapter 36, you will see that it will take seven years, just to bury the dead from the earth from this judgment of evil known as wrath.

What is often missed in the events of these days is the judgment of mortals which will take place soon after Jesus sets up residence on earth. Matthew Chapter 25 describes that sheep and goats judgment which determines which mortals will continue to inhabit earth and be ruled over by Jesus and His bride. I believe that the word of God speaks clearly on this ruling over the nations.

1 Corinthians 15:25 Christ must rule until God has put every enemy under his control. (GOD’S WORD)

Romans 15:12 Again, Isaiah says, “There will be a root from Jesse. He will rise to rule the nations, and he will give the nations hope.” (GOD’S WORD)

2 Timothy 4:1 I solemnly call on you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge those who are living and those who are dead. I do this because Christ Jesus will come to rule [the world]. (GOD’S WORD)

2 Timothy 2:12 If we endure, we will rule with him. If we disown him, he will disown us. (GOD’S WORD)

Revelation 20:4 I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were allowed to judge. Then I saw the souls of those whose heads had been cut off because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its statue and were not branded on their foreheads or hands. They lived and ruled with Christ for 1,000 years. (GOD’S WORD)

2 Peter 3:8 Dear friends, don’t ignore this fact: One day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. (GOD’S WORD)

May God bless you as you ponder these things.
