If you want to know about your government, you need to know first what it once was like.
When this nation was constituted the President had total control over the Administration leg of Government. He took over and made appointments of men to implement his programs within almost the entire administrative branch, which he was and actually still is over. Over time the numbers of workers grew, and frankly there was a need to have stability so more and more stayed as permanent employees. Today that has evolved to a President having about 1% of the total administrative state appointments that he can even make should he so choose, and he and his appointments are up against workers from the upper tiers all the way down to the cleaning crew. These upper echelons feel obligated shall we say to let the President and his appointments do only what they themselves approve without becoming adversarial. After all they know best; otherwise they set up a resistance.
We’ve never done it this way Sir. This then is how the CIA, FBI and DOJ operated against Trump and assisted their own political comrades in his takedown. Ideally the Administration would always follow its head, but Republicans have more or less always been ideologically speaking outside of this growing clique, which has been moving left of center.
Trump wants to change this.
