The world loves the progressive movement. That should not be a surprise. There is a Spirit behind the world’s progress. In fact the world at the direction of the Lucificerian spirit has usurped and attempted to turn what once was perceived to be good into evil. Much of what God had given us for good has been usurped. Should you think me wrong I’ll name just a few. The rainbow, given by God as a covenant sign with mankind to never again destroy the earth by flood — is in our day used to light the Empire State Building and has lit up this nations capital in celebration of Gay rights and Homosexual marriage. In that one example three of God’s gifts to us have been stolen: the definition of marriage; the meaning of being gay; and the purpose for the rainbow.
So what about the term progressive has it been turned in a deceptive direction? Today the word “progressive” implies an enlightened view; and takes on an anti-biblical connotation. For example there is an anti-biblical connotation to evolution. Yet God’s truth has come to us through an evolution of progressive revelation. The age of humankind or as we know it creation has been impacted by God over time by God’s administrations (or dispensations) within this age. In each of these administrations of His time He has revealed additional truth. But truth once revealed does not change. Truth cannot change; otherwise it is not truth. It evolves as He reveals it, but it does not change. It rather builds upon itself.
God Himself does not change. He is the truth. Jesus said: I am the truth and the life… So once truth is revealed it will not be undone. It can be further explained, but not undone. Jesus is the only savior to all who believe. Jews and Gentiles are now one in Christ. Those two truths will never be undone. Yet dispensational theology by teaching that the Great Tribulation is not of this age, has done just that. They have attempted to alter the building blocks of revealed truth.
Pretribulational Dispensational theology says that the great Tribulation is of the age to come with its focus being God’s wrath. Yet Daniel was told otherwise:
In the book of Daniel 12:9-13 God’s messenger said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days! But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age.”
So progressive revelation is given to Daniel, and revealed to us consistent with this building block, telling us things of the end time, telling us that Daniel will rise at the end of the age. This time for Daniels resurrection based on this passage is obviously following the 1260 days of Great Tribulation, which here denotes the end of the age.
We are given this same promise. Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Notice neither of these passages said at the end of an age or at the end of some age or at the end of your age, but at the end of “the” age. The is a definite article. In each case “the” makes reference to a uniquely specific noun. In this case “end” and “age”. To the Lord (the Word of God) end and age both have specific meaning. So it becomes clear that both old and New Testament saints will resurrect at the end of the age following the Tribulation even as Daniel and Jesus tell us:
Mark 13:24-27 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.
So is this gathering the resurrection? Is it just for the Jews? In fact who are the true Jews according to scripture? Luke 20:36 for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. Again the definite article “the”. Scripture teaches that the Rapture will not precede the resurrection. It teaches that only men who are in Christ are worthy of the resurrection.
Jews were being addressed by Jesus here in answer to their question concerning resurrection. “The” revelation within this passage is that these Jews who would attain to “the” resurrection will be “sons of God”. This is the same status as for you and I in the body of Christ. We who are also included within the Jewish new covenant are one new man. We are the sons of God. We are one with the saints according to Paul in Ephesians. We are the true Jews according to Paul.
The revelation of scripture makes sense. We will be included in the same resurrection. We have been made one in the same covenants and promises. Among those promises is a future resurrection to a kingdom wherein Christ rules as king of Israel. And we as Jesus’ bride are also described as the sons of God and we will rule with Him over a world needing restoration following the present evil age.
So where in Scripture do we find that Israel is married to Christ as we are? They are called sons as we are, are they also of the bride as we are? We know that they are sons of God the Father, and that they are born of the Holy Spirit if they are to enter the kingdom. We know this because Jesus taught that in order to enter the kingdom one must be born again (John 3:3 ).
Isaiah 54:4-8 speaking to the Jewish nation: “Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. “For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth. “For the Lord has called you, Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” Says your God. “For a brief moment I forsook you, But with great compassion I will gather you. “In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you, ”Says the Lord your Redeemer.
So our relationship with the bridegroom is also the same. It is interesting how clear things become when we listen to scripture rather than trying to make it say what we want it to. Here Jesus death in chapter 53, creates for Israel a temporary state of widowhood, which will be forgotten when her bridegroom her creator and redeemer is revealed to her (Hosea 5:15). These passages reveal the triune relationship that we both have —Jews and Gentiles; one with the Father as sons, one with the Son as His bride; and one with the Holy Spirit having been reborn.

Jerry, Peter did not teach this. Is it Apostolic teaching?
“And we as Jesus’ bride are also described as the sons of God and we will rule with Him over a world needing restoration following the present evil age.”
This is what the Apostle Peter declared:
2 Peter 3:7 NASB – 7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

Maria, I believe that the Day of the Lord in this description is understood as being the 1000 year millennium. He makes the point that a Day unto the Lord is as 1000 years. In the Revelation Jesus revealed the destruction of the earth and its remaking at the end of that period of time, or at the end of the Day of the Lord, which Peter is capsulizing here. The final destruction will be by fire and will require the remaking of the new heavens and new earth. The New Jerusalem will come down out of Heaven to this new earth. Jesus said: I go and prepare a place for you… the Day of the Lord is His day for Judgment. It begins with Judgment — trampling the wine press at His return, it ends with Judgment. The Great white throne judgment. In between He rules with a rod of iron, and we rule with Him as His bride. I don’t see a contradiction within these teachings. We as recipients of the covenants (plural) means for us that the promises to Israel of land rulership and peace will be fulfilled for both us and Israel as we are grafted into her Olive Tree. Christ is the root of this tree. The tree of course is symbolic of this one new man.

Jerry, how can you allow yourself to be associated with an image of “Christ”? It isn’t Christ – Messiah – and therefore is a false christ.

Maria, I’ve gone to many sites looking up graven image. The picture of Christ on the book cover with the crown and white horse is a picture to advise what is in the book. A picture is worth a thousand words. This is what I’ve found on graven image.
graven image

graven image — an idol
Merriam-Webster Definition of graven image
: an object of worship carved usually from wood or stone : idol
What is Graven? Definition and meaning: Graven To cut or engrave.
I would guess that one could accuse another of making an idol of a picture or even of a book. In fact as the definition suggests one could make an idol of most anything. But isn’t idolatry something of the heart. If this offends you I certainly apologize.

Jerry,
People use different arguments to dismiss the prohibitions of the second commandment, the making images pertaining to worship. I know you don’t worship this depiction, and the point isn’t that you’ve offended me but rather does the use of this image please the Lord? If one picture is worth a thousand words why did the Lord give us a Book?
One argument of the old iconoclasts was that we can never portray the Lord Jesus Christ because His Deity can never be portrayed, being Transcendent and Infinite. I agree with this but am more basic about it. This image has nothing to do with the Lord, period. Yes, it teaches me, but what it teaches me is to obey the commandment and get rid of such images. Also, this depiction looks nothing like the way in which the Lord is described by the Apostle John, who saw Him, in Revelation 1:
12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands; 13 and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like [j]a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14 His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. 16 In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun [k]shining in its strength.
The man depicted on the cover of your book has a Jewish prayer shawl over his head – Christ is the glory of God and that can never be covered now. Even ordinary men in worship are told not to cover their heads because the “glory of God” (the man) should never be covered in worship. John did not see the glorified and ascended Lord Jesus Christ with a prayer shawl covering.
As a former Roman Catholic perhaps I have a little more insight about the prohibition against images. ?
Remember, that the Israelites believed that their golden calf was Yahweh Who had delivered them?
Most Evangelical Christians don’t understand any of this – it’s a kind of blindness. Reformed Christians – other than Lutherans – are taught this. But this is a tangent I’ve spoken about. I hope to respond with my thoughts, such as they are, to your comment to me about prophecy.

I did — this is a good word. I also posted this there. Maria, thanks for sharing this, I do understand that my book cover could be offensive to someone coming out of Catholicism. We tend to rebel against the things that we were deceived by when we make a break with a prior religious condition that held us captive. I have done this myself in breaking from dispensational theology as I was taught it. I do now see that these pictures of Christ can be a stumbling block to others, and Paul tells not to be such. When you first pointed this out I thought you to be mad. We fail to see as God sees on many levels. This is why (my opinion) we won’t be perfect this side of our new glorified bodies. But we can learn and we can try. In the interim please don’t throw the book out. The picture before your lesson to me was meant to depict Jesus as the Jewish Messiah and soon returning King, returning not as you described Him as John saw Him in the Revelation chapter one, but as He may appear in His robe dipped in and splattered with blood, from His journey to save the Remnant of Jews who have fled Jerusalem’s siege at the hand of Antichrist during Armageddon (read if you would Isaiah 63:1-8.). This depicts Jesus in battle for the salvation of the Jews who will call upon Him before He will return (Hos. 5:15). In this battle He stains His royal garments, and then apparently returns in glory immediately after this final harvest of Jewish believers without changing these garments. We observe this in Revelation 19, where we see Him in these same blood stained garments as He returns in glory. Anyway the picture was meant to depict these scriptures. And one can read about these things in the book.

Book is still offered on line last production was in Europe. Huntington House went out of Business also. I’m bad news for publishers so far.
